The beautiful setting of Farr feels unspoilt. With its expansive grounds, ancient woodland and views to the heather-clad hills, the traditional Highland landscape looks very much unaltered. In 2014 there were even some bowls discovered nearby that dated back to the Iron Age, that still lie in the field behind the walled gardens.
For those who enjoy wildlife, there is no end of natural sightings around Farr. Ospreys are often seen diving into the loch to catch trout, stags can be heard roaring from the hills during the mating season, and there have been sightings of rare wild cats on the expansive moors.
